Anticorrosion on the bridge in Denmark
One of the most important example of appliacation of the flame-spraying process, which led the company to expand to the European market, was the order for the anticorrosion treatments on most of the metal structures of the longest suspension bridge in Europe, called "Storebaelt". It connects two Danish island and is 7 Km long. The cycle required was:

the sandblasting as a preparation of the surface for the later treatments 

the flame spraying with a coating of a zinc aluminium alloy which is foundamental for protection against corrosive phenomena, as it is in a marine environment 

painting with an epoxy cycle and polyurethane finishing 

Before proceeding with the jobs the company was subjected by the customer to numerous qualification tests.
The most important included: a saline fog test and a friction test. The work could only start after the successfully passing of the above tests.
